50:40
In the Pāli Canon, who talks with the Buddha? The vast majority of named laypeople who have conversations with the Buddha are upper caste and wealthy: brahmins and aristocrats. So where do we find working class devotees? In the record of the monastics: the Theragāthā and Therīgāthā. In this talk Sean introduces a few of these inspiring practitioners, and you will be able to think about how class and privilege influence your own relationships with the Buddha’s teachings.
